Spring Shares Week 10, 2019

2019 Summer CSA Share Update

We will be pushing back the start date of our Summer CSA Shares to the third or the fourth week of June. With all the Spring rain, we are still waiting to get into our fields, and our original estimation of starting June 10th needs to be changed. Summer Shares will still run for 16 weeks, and will go for longer into the fall. Fall CSA Shares will not be affected by this change. Thank you to all of our members in advance for your flexibility, and we will be posting updates weekly regarding the start of Summer Shares.

Week 10 of Spring Shares 5/16!

Welcome to Week 10 of Spring Shares!

The first spears of Asparagus have started to come out of the ground! We do not expect to include it in Spring Shares this week, but starting next week we are hoping it will be in your baskets!

Our Spinach beds look like they will still be producing for this week. We plan on passing it out as only Spinach, rather than in a mix, for this week.

Speaking of, we would love to hear some feedback regarding pre-mixed bags of greens vs individually bagged greens. We pass out the individually bagged greens so that our members can mix them as they like, but invite input from our members regarding your preferences. Any responses can be sent to farmers@traciesfarm.com

Thank you!

Pick up will be on Thursday, May 16th any time after 2:30pm in the barn.

“C” denotes a green that can be used for cooking
“R” denotes a green that can be used raw for salads, sandwiches, etc.

A ? denotes a crop that we are on the fence about harvesting for the current week.

Some veggies may come with limited pest damage. We are committed to operating as a 100% Spray and Pesticide Free farm, and one of the results of that is occasional pest problems. Typically the extent of the damage is small holes nibbled by insects, and we will never pass out vegetables that have lost their nutritional integrity due to pest damage. We hope you will understand!

Our Roadside Nursery is open daily, dawn to dusk, and operates on the honor system. Please bring Cash or Check and pay using the cash box provided in the Farm Stand.
