We Need Your Help! We are reaching the part of the season where incoming payments for summer shares have tapered off, and incoming payments for fall shares are only trickling in. This is always a tricky time of year for us because we operate on such close margins, and we need your help to get us back and stable again! If you or anyone you know is planning on signing up for a fall CSA share with us this year, we kindly ask that you do so sooner rather than later! Additionally, if you know anyone that may be interested in signing up for a fall CSA share, we ask that you will recommend us! Payments from fall shares largely go towards covering payroll for the farmers in the fields each week, but they also cover supplies we purchase … Continue reading

Raspberry Share Update Unfortunately our raspberry rows suffered a bad bout of winter kill this year, and we are not going to be able to fulfill all of our raspberry shares this season. Our plan is to pass out as many as we can, and supplement the rest with blueberries, or peaches, pears, and plums from our fruit trees, until we reach the dollar value of our Raspberry share. Week 4 of Summer Shares! Welcome to Week 4 of our Summer CSA Shares! Cherry Tomatoes and Pickling Cucumbers are starting to ripen in our green house and will begin making the rounds this week. When a crop first starts to come in we keep track of how far around the shares they get and resume in that position the following week. Typically we only have to do this for the first few weeks, and then everyone should be receiving tomatoes and cukes in their basket! Beets and scallions will be new to your baskets this week, and peas and broccoli should be in abundance! There will be a minor change in how we pack your baskets for this week. We have been trying to use less plastic in our shares after receiving some feedback from members, and although … Continue reading
Week 3 of Summer Shares! Welcome to Week 3 of our Summer CSA Shares! A few people have asked, so we thought we would clarify how our Baby Lettuce and Flower Share works. Those two add-ons run for 10 weeks out of the 16 week season, so you will not receive them every week this summer. We typically start them both around week 6 to run for the final 10 weeks of the season, but may start them earlier if our beds are coming in nicely. The veggies on the farm are sizing up nicely for baskets this summer! This will be another week with greens dominated shares, but by next week beets will be ready, peas will be a mainstay, and cucumbers should start making their way into the baskets! A few things to note for shares this … Continue reading

The veggies this week will be mostly the same until we get a little bit more growth out of our veggie beds. You will be receiving all of the veggies you received in week 1, sans parsley. Our Snap Peas are really starting to come in, though! We are going to try our best to get snap peas in the baskets of all of our members this week. That may mean that portions are small for this week, but by next week we are expecting them to be producing in full force with ample peas for all share sizes! We are also anticipating … Continue reading
