Week 10 Summer Shares 2018

  Summer Shares Week 10! We are a little over halfway through the season! The crops are in a transition period as the earlier season veggies and greens (peas, head lettuce, spinach, etc.) give way to the later season vegetables (tomatoes, eggplant, peppers etc.). It’s an exciting time of year for us and we hope you enjoy it too! Join avid fermenter, potter, and teaching artist, Shana Brautigam for a two hour workshop on vegetable fermentation at the outdoor kitchen on the farm. During this workshop we will learn how to safely ferment a variety of vegetables to enjoy throughout the winter. Fermentation is a fun and easy way to preserve vegetables and boost your digestive health! It is the only form of food preservation that actually increases the nutrients available in the vegetables! We will be fermenting seasonal vegetables including cabbage, carrots, and beets. The vegetables will be provided by Tracie‚Äôs Community Farm. What to bring: A sharp knife and a cutting board for chopping veggies.
